About us
Since 1991
Highway College, previously known as Highway Christian Academy, was founded by Chris Barnard in 1991. His aim was to provide Bible based education for Christian families. The school followed the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum. For the last 15 years the school has followed the Department of Education’s CAPS curriculum as also followed by public schools. We are an English home language school with Afrikaans and isiZulu as first additional languages.
The school places a strong focus on the development of Christian values. One of the school’s goals is to produce ambassadors for Christ to this end we incorporate biblical teachings in assemblies, morning devotions and biblical lessons.
Highway College is well known for its distinctive tranquil environment in the heart of Pinetown. Classes are small and learners receive individual attention. We offer a range of sporting and cultural extra-curricular activities to cater for individual learner interest.

Pre-School
Our pre-school is an integral component of the school, providing a protective, caring environment for learners in Grade RR

Junior & Senior Primary
Our primary school consists of one to two classes per grade from grade R to 7. The individual attention given to learners at this stage of their development is a fundamental advantage. Learners in the senior primary phase are taught the six core subjects. All learners are encouraged to engage in cultural and sporting activities.

High School
Our high school offers the popular FET subjects that enable our learners to access university studies. We have had a 100% pass in Grade 12 for the last few years. As in our primary school, all learners are encouraged to engage in cultural and sporting activities.
